TAG Heuer teased earlier that they will be jumping in to the Smartwatch game, and today they have officially unveiled its first smartwatch, which was developed in collaboration with Intel and Google. Called the TAG Heuer Connected. It is the first Android Wear based Luxury Smartwatch. This watch is not targeted at everyone, but it is targeted at that special class of people who are in to Luxury items.
Talking about the design, the TAG Heuer Connected looks like a classic TAG Heuer watch. It is made out of Titanium Grade 2, and it has a full 1.5″ scratch resistant sapphire crystal circular display. The watch will be powered by a dual-core 1.6 GHz Intel processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory and a 410 mAh battery which, according to TAG Heuer, should provide around a full day of use.
The TAG Heuer Connected also features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth like the rest of the Smartwatches. The Connected is IP67-certified, which means it is dust- and water-resistant. There are straps with different colours too, if you are intrested.
Thanks to a dedicated app, the watch can be paired to handsets running Android 4.3 or later, and iPhones running iOS 8.2 or later.
The Luxury aspect of the watch can been seen clearly when looking at the price as it costs $1,500, which makes this the most expensive Android Wear device to date. This is still miles cheaper than the much expensive Gold Apple Watch which costs $10,000-$17,000.
