Today is another big day for Samsung Sri Lanka because today they launched their brand new SUHD Curved TVs in Sri Lanka. The launch event was held at Casa Colombo, and I was lucky enough to go for it to cover it for Andro Dollar. This is the first SUHD TV line in Sri Lanka. These new TVs by Samsung promise to bring amazing quality with stunning contrast and brightness. The new TV line is going to be powered by the Tizen OS.
First let’s talk about the event. At the event I got to check out the new TVs up close, and Samsung had a brief introduction about the new models before they unveiled it officially. Youngmin Shin, the Managing Director of Samsung Electronics, Sri Lanka said
“Samsung has set a new industry standard for the best picture quality available today. As the first ‘S’ branded TV, Samsung’s SUHD TV is designed to offer an outstanding viewing experience with sensational picture quality, seamless interaction and ultra-stylish design.”
Below are some photos I took at the event where Samsung unveiled the new SUHD TVs.
The SUHD Curved TV line has a new design to it. It has slim chamfer bezels with an elegant frame. It also has a Soft, textured design at the back ensuring the TV will look stylish from any angle. The TVs are available in 2 sizes in Sri Lanka; 65″ & 55″.
Have a look at some press images of this piece of art.
According to Samsung, It utilizes eco friendly nano-crystal technology which shows off amazing levels of brightness, contrast and details. With Nano Colour, viewers can experience far superior colour expressions. To the naked eye, it looks really good. I have got to checkout some UHD displays before, but I think this most certainly looked to be the best so far. Colors just looked so vibrant and everything just popped.
As I mentioned earlier, the New SUHD models will be powered by Tizen on the software department, and it supports the web standard for TV app development. Tizen is built with more smart features this year and it has a more elegant & appealing UI which will make the User experience a good one.
With the new SUHD TVs, the users can share video content from their Samsung smartphone to their Smart TV or the users can watch TV on the phone as well. This seems pretty cool, but keep in mind that you will need a compatible Samsung Smartphone for this to work.
The TVs have a new feature called Briefing on TV which automatically turns on the TV and act according to the users schedule (If the user has an alarm, the TV will display it)
Overall the new SUHD Curved Smart TVs by Samsung will offer stunning picture quality with some amazing features built in.
If anyone is interested in picking one up, The new Samsung SUHD TV is now available from Rs.699,990 onwards at Samsung Brand Shops and authorized dealers like Singer, Softlogic and Sinhagiri.
