We have been reporting on the Oppo N3 since it first leaked out sometime back. We all had very high hopes for this phone, and as Oppo Teased the phone delivers. Oppo held a Special Event in Singapore to unveil the Oppo N3 and the Oppo R5; the World’s Thinnest Phone.
The Oppo N3 is much similar to it’s predecessor, but better in almost every way. The key point for the N3 is it’s camera. It has a Rotatable 16MP Camera, that now comes with a Motor, so you can move it automatically. The camera uses Schneider Kreuznach-certified lens according to Oppo. This Camera rotates up to 206 degrees just like on the N1 and it moves automatically when shooting panoramas and making selfies. Panoramas are shot in up to 64MP resolution. More features include slow shutter, ultra macro mode,after focus, manual control as well as shooting in RAW. All of these features come as a part of what Oppo calls Ultra image 2.0.
The 16MP camera on the Oppo N3 shoots 4K video at 30 fps, 1080p video at 60 fps, 720p slow motion video at 120 fps. In terms of connectivity, the phone offers Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0. USB OTG is also supported as always.
Oppo has also coupled in a Finger print scanner at the back instead of the Track pad on the N1. The fingerprint sensor at the back also allows you to take photos by using it as a Shutter key.
The Oppo N3 has a 5.5″ 1080p display giving it a PPI of 403PPI. It has 2GB of Ram, and it uses the Snapdragon 801 SoC. The device has 32GB of Internal Storage, and you can add up to 128GB of Micro SD Cards.
The Oppo N3’s 3,000mAh Li-Po battery supports Oppo’s much talked about VOOC rapid charging technology and can recharge from 0 to 75% in just 30 minutes or get enough juice for 2 hours of talking in just 5 minutes. The VOOC charger has also been updated and is now half the height of the old one. That’s Great News.
The Oppo N3 also has the Skyline Notification Light that the Oppo Find 7 had. It works either way (Even if you turn the device around) this time around according to Oppo.
The Oppo N3 will be running Android 4.4.4 Kitkat and The UI will be Oppo’s Color OS, which was recently upgraded to v2.0i. The OS provides enhanced user experience, with gesture-based controls, floating notifications, and a few more rather nifty bells and whistles. This time around, there’s no App Drawer as well.
The Oppo N3 will retail for $649 off-contract by the end of 2014. Who’s getting one? The Oppo N3 looks like a Beast.
