The leaked and rumored Galaxy Alpha, Samsung’s Hyped up Metal Clad device was made official today. This is a huge step up for a lot of people because the device is going to be using metal on the bezels, while providing a removable back at the back. The back is going to be just as on the Galaxy S5 with Plastic.
Checkout the Intro video of the Device.
The specifications of the device are a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, an octa-core Exynos processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (Non-expandable), a 12MP rear camera and an 1860 mAh battery. The device has the Fingerprint scanner and Heart Rate monitor which is found on the Galaxy S5, butr Sadly waterproofing doesn’t retun here. So the device will not be IP67 certified sadly. The device will be running Android 4.4.4 along with Touchwiz.
The Galaxy Alpha will be available in five color options at launch: Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver, and Scuba Blue. Availability of the color options will vary by market.
Weighing 115 grams, the Galaxy Alpha is an impressive 6.7 millimeters thin, though the camera module on the back is protruding, somehow similar to the Galaxy S2. In fact, the entire device, with its squarish lines, is reminiscent of the Galaxy S2, the smartphone that first put Samsung on the map. Good thing is that it is Semi Metal, but Not having the ruggedness is a Huge Downfall in my opinion.
The Samsung Galaxy Alpha will launch in early September, and it will eventually go on sale in 150 markets. Samsung’s recommended retail price for the Galaxy Alpha is 599 euros, putting the device at the top of the scale, alongside the Galaxy S5 and the upcoming Note 4. Not sure whether anyone would actually want to get this over the Note 4 specially because it is going to feature way better features and Specifications.
