As Turns out Google Shelfie is not an April Fools Prank

Yesterday we reported on Top April Fools day Pranks by Tech Giants, and we included Google Shelfie to that list; but as it turns out this is not the case. This seems to have come to stay.

According to Android Central,

Google is now allowing users to share their custom Gmail themes, in a feature much like their Gmail Shelfie. If you are using a custom theme in Gmail, simply go to Settings and under Themes, you’ll see the new “Share your theme” option. You will be able to share with Gmail,Google+, or with a direct link.”
