Earlier this year Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S6 Edge which attracted a lot of people’s attention, and now Samsung has unveiled a Bigger version with more power called the S6 Edge+. Along with the S6 Edge+, Samsung also unveiled the much anticipated Galaxy Note 5 at a special event held in New York, and we covered it Live with a Live Stream and Live Blog. Checkout everything you need to know about the Galaxy Note 5 here. Now let’s see what the S6 Edge+ brings to the game.
Checkout the Official Trailer of the S6 Edge+ First.
The Galaxy S6 Edge+ has the same design as the Galaxy S6 Edge with Metal and Glass. It is wrapped in that metal frame and there is glass at the front and back. The front glass is curved at the edges that gives it the name. It is just beautiful and feels good in the hand when using it.
The Galaxy S6 Edge+ has a 5.7″ QHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED Display. It looks crisp.
The Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be rocking the Exynos 7420 SoC which is one of the fastest SoCs available right now. Samsung has used 4GB of Ram on the Galaxy S6 Edge+. That’s a powerhouse. Just like the Galaxy S6 Edge, the S6 Edge+ also has the same touch type fingerprint scanner, that’s fast and accurate.
Storage is based on the fast UFS 2.0 standard. The S6 Edge+ comes with 32GB & 64GB of internal storage. Just like with theS6 Edge, there are no expandability options.
The Galaxy S6 Edge+ comes with a 3000mAh battery with Wireless Charging & Fast Charging (Wired and Wireless) built in. Samsung claims that theS6 Edge+ can be charged from 0% to 100% in 90 Minutes using a Wired Fast Charger, and 2 Hours using a Wireless Charger.
With the S6 Edge+, Samsung has used the Same Camera sensor found on the S6 Edge. So it has a 16MP sensor with an aperture of f/1.9. The Camera comes bundled in with optical image stabilization (OIS) and auto real-time HDR. It even has VDIS (Video Stabilization) to make Video recording a smoother experience. It can record 2160p video or livestream 1080p to YouTube. The front facing selfie camera is a 5MP sensor which also has an aperture of f/1.9. Double press the home button to open the Camera is also still present, and it works flawlessly.
Samsung has updated the audio department with Ultra High Quality Audio, which promises richer sound. The speaker is located at the bottom of the device just like on the S6 Edge.
The all new Galaxy S6 Edge+ runs on Android 5.1 with a new and improved version of Touchwiz on board. Samsung has bundled in some new icons in to the latest version of touchwiz which looks quite good. There are other improvements on board as well. There are some added Edge screen functions on the S6 Edge+, and they seem to improve the users experience, but still I feel like there aren’t many groundbreaking features with the use of the Edge screen.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is available for pre-orders starting today and it will go on Sale on the 21st of August.
