We saw the Asus made Nexus player leak out a few months back, and now it has been made official by Google along with the Brand new Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Nexus Player is a Console/ Set-Up Box that you connect to your existing TV.
The new Nexus Player even comes with a Gaming Accessory which you can use to play Android games on your TV. The Nexus Player ships with a voice search capable remote in the box. The remote lets you easily search for content by voice. So, to watch a movie, you only need to press a button on the remote, say the movie’s name, and you should be able to see it immediately.
The Nexus Player runs Android, and hence it will have access to Google’s app store for Android. It will also Sync across Android devices, so you can start watching a movie on your TV (via the Nexus Player) and finish it on your phone or tablet. This works for games too, with syncing of achievements and progress. Power users are going to love it.
It will connect to your TV with a HDMI Cable. The device is powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core Intel Atom CPU, it has 1GB of Ram and 8GB of Internal Storage alongside support for 2×2 (MIMO) 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth as well. It even has a Micro USB Port built in.
Nexus Player pre-orders start on October 17th and it will be available in Retail shops on November 3rd for $99.
I Digg it. Do you?
