We have been hearing a lot of News about Windows 9 aka Project Threshold in the past few days. We heard that Windows 9 will be released as a Developer Preview at a Special Event on the 30th of September. According to a Report from WinBeta, Windows 9 will include interactive Live Tiles and a notification center. That’s some Interesting news.
Microsoft has previously experimented with interactive Live Tiles as part of a research effort earlier this year. This maybe a part of Windows 9 as well. The Live Tile work, which is surfaced on the new mini Start Menu, coincides with additional changes to the desktop UI that Microsoft is currently testing. A notification center will also be present, similar to the implementation in Windows Phone 8.1 recently with all the Notifications and maybe the quick toggles as well.
We are not sure whether these features will be made available in the Developer Preview or whether these will come out in the Final Version. According to The Verge, Microsoft’s plans to update the Technology Preview once or twice a month to add new features for testers, and the notification center and interactive Live Tiles will come later in testing.
All we can do at this point is wait patiently because Windows 9 seems to be packing quite a lot of good stuff such as Virtual Desktops, Cortana, Floating Windows Apps and much more. Are you waiting for Windows 9? Drop a comment down below and let us know.
