Not too long afte the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class made its official online debut, the official engine specifications alongside the selection of different available versions have been leaked.
Some of the entry-level models include the Mercedes-Benz C220 Bluetec sporting a 2.1-liter turbo diesel delivering 168 hp as well as the C180 powered by a 1.6-liter petrol with 154 hp and the C200 featuring a 2.0-liter petrol with 181 hp. These will be the first three models available.
Further down the road, we will see the introduction of the C250. This variant will feature a 2.0-liter petrol engine delivering 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, an even more fuel-efficient variant of the C220 Bluetec will be offered with the more powerful and more expensive C250 Bluetec to feature a 2.1-liter turbodiesel pumping out 201 hp and most significant, 369 lb-ft of torque. All of the aforementioned variants will be available with the firm’s nine-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Later this year, we will see the introduction of the C300 Bluetec hybrid featuring the same 201 hp 2.1-liter turbo diesel of the regular C250. However, it will be mated to an electric motor providing an additional 28 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque.
Bringing out 2014 will be the release of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG said to feature a twin-turbo 4.0-liter engine producing between 454 hp and 493 hp. Whichever of those figures is correct, it’ll be quite a bit more powerful than both the new M3 and M4.
Finally we will see the release of a Plug-in hybrid in the form of the C300 producing 249 hp thanks to its turbo 2.0-liter while an extra 67 hp will come courtesy of an electric motor.
